End of the Curse Bases (3)

End of the Curse Bases (3)

These bases probably seem more like stepping stones on the way to the top of Mount End The Curse for Red Sox fanatics. They were the sacks used in game four of the 2004 World Series in St. Louis, meaning that unlike the bases used during the 1946, 1967 and 1986 Fall Classics, they didn’t have land mines under them. This time, they acheived victory, by shutting out the Cardinals 3-0 for the sweep and thus becoming the World Series Champions. For Johnny Damon, tripping lightly across all four of the bases wehen he led off game four with a home run, they may as well have been made of air. These bases were one of three sets used during game 4. The bases naturally display extensive use and each has a MLB World Series 2004 logo screened onto the surface and “Cardinals World Series” and “8 Teams/1 Champion World Series” logos on the sides. Authenticated by Deloitte and Touche, the official authenticator of Major League Baseball. Also accompanied by a LOA from the St. Louis Cardinals.
