<p><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Eric Clapton is an iconic musician who has been prolific with his releases of blues and rock music. He has recorded 26 single albums, 24 studio albums, 21 compilations, 17 live albums, and eight soundtracks. Born to an unmarried English 16-year-old mother and a foreign soldier stationed in England during World War II, Clapton believed until age nine that his grandparents were his parents. Finding out the truth of his birth sent him emotionally reeling and led to a very introspective nature. After the revelation about his parentage, Clapton lost interest in school but later showed immense interest in playing guitar. </span><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Before achieving fame as a singles act, Clapton played in a variety of bands: The <em>Yardbirds</em>, <em>John Mayall & The Bluesbreakers</em>, <em>Cream</em>, <em>Blind Faith</em>, and <em>Derek and the Dominos</em>. In 1977, his album <em>Slowhand </em>(one of his nicknames), was a 3-time Platinum record in the United States. Clapton's best-selling album is <em>Unplugged,</em> which sold more than a million copies in the United States. Other famous releases were <em>Layla and Assorted Other Love Songs,</em> and <em>Tears In Heaven.</em> More than one musical commentator has called Clapton a genius for his creative guitar playing, songwriting, and singing. In fact, Clapton got his other nickname, "God," from graffiti that was scrawled in a London underground station reading, "Clayton is God." Many Clapton fans feel the nickname is not inordinately exaggerated. Offered is a 16x19.5x0.34" (thickness) brilliant photograph on canvas, an image that depicts Clapton's lightning quick hands (Slowhand is an ironic nickname if ever there was one). The photo has the feel of a painting, and the image seems to show Clapton's hands in magical motion. Clapton's signature is clear and large, and it was done with a blue marker.
