Ernie Davis Hand-Written Paper on Oregon Trail 5 pages
This five page paper was written, in cursive writing, in blue fountain pen ink by Ernie Davis during his freshman year at Syracuse University. It is about the book, The Oregon Trail, and is written by Francis Parkman. On the back of the fifth page Davis has written, "Ernie Davis, History 10A, Dr. Baick - 10:00, 1/12/59", and just under this in black ballpoint pen is written "R+", probably by his professor. Ernie ends his writing by saying, "This book was very interesting and I agree fully with the author, when he stated 'that he saw in the frontier something of glamour and interest which, once gone, could never return."
