From a recent find in the New England area this card caused quite a commotion as a walk-in at the recent Boston show. The appearance of the card caused a near free for all from the many auctioneers/dealers who fought to have it. The card emanates from an old-time collector who had owned it exclusively for decades. Lelands.com is proud to have the honor to auction the card here. Completely and totally fresh to the market, this is the first time this glowing cardboard masterpiece has ever been offered publicly. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to own the finest card ever from the hottest set of today. This is the finest T3 Turkey Red Baseball Card known to exist. Not only is it a one of a kind proof in near immaculate condition but it is also an actual true step in the printing process of what is perhaps the most attractive baseball card set ever produced. This is truly a one of a kind as the there are several key differences between this card and the normal Cy Young T3. The name of this immortal moundsman has not yet been added at the bottom of the card, there are printers proof marks on each vertical side, it is blank backed and there is a certain gloss to the surface that is not seen in normal everyday varieties. Most importantly, the card has an injection of hand coloring to bring out certain details of the surface including Cy Young’s uniform. This “extra color” was added by the card’s designers to enhance the appearance of Mr. Young and simply make him and his colors "pop." This “extra step” is a peephole into the extra effort put into what would become one of the most graphically treasured baseball cards of all time. There is some very minor edge wear, absolutely no creases and the card grades a very strong excellent.
