Exemplary Ken Boyer Game Used Glove with provenance

Exemplary Ken Boyer Game Used Glove with provenance

Consigned by a gentleman whose parents were friends and neighbors with Harry Carey in St. Louis, they used the same swimming pool company and the "kid" (our consignor) kept his pool clean in the summer of 1963 or 1964. In his own words: "No money was mentioned but he said he'd, 'take care of me at the end of summer.' In September of 1963/64 he called our house and asked if I'd come over: 'he had something for me.' Since I hadn't gotten any money I was expecting some big cash. As I got over to their house, he handed me a brown bag with a used baseball glove inside. Not what I was expecting (it could have been a new glove) but I thanked him and went home. It turns out he had gotten this glove from dugout or clubhouse. It remains just as I got it. My hands never were big enough for it and it's been in our closet over the years collecting dust." Comes with his LOA stating all this. The best specimen of a Boyer glove that we have ever seen. Perfectly aged "14" on the outside in black marker, pocket is beautifully darkened from use. Rawlings "Ken Boyer" Model TG15 should be the prototype of use and wear for all game used gloves. This is EXACTLY what you want your piece to look like. When this one came in we did high fives.
