Spud Chandler's personal gift to his doctor in his final season as the Yankees proud stopper. Typical of the period, 1947 was another tour de force for the New York Yankees. The Bronx Bombers easily won the AL pennant by 12 games over the Detroit Tigers before vanquishing their cross-town rivals, the Brooklyn Dodgers, in a hard-fought World Series. Signed by 26 members of the Yanks '47 championship squad, most notably DiMaggio (ss), Berra, Reynolds, Houk, Crosetti, Raschi, Brown, Shea, Page and Spud Chandler twice. Once alongside Joe DiMaggio on the sweet spot (both 9/10). Also, gifted on the trademark, "To Dr. Crouk, Best Wishes, Spud Chandler." OAL Harridge ball rates EX-MT, while the sigs average 8/10, zero of which are clubhouse. The mighty Yanks beat the arch rival Brooklyn Dodgers and a fearsome rookie by the name of Jackie Roosevelt Robinson.
