Extremely Scarce Walter Beall Autograph - 1927 Yankee Member (PSA)

Presented is an extremely scarce cut autograph from pitcher Walter Beall, a member of the 1927 New York Yankees, a squad known for its famed "Murderers' Row" and a team often regarded as the best baseball team in history. The '27 Yankees won the AL pennant by 19 games, with a record of 110-44. Then, the Bronx Bombers swept the Pittsburgh Pirates in the World Series. The "Murderers' Row" lineup included: Babe Ruth batting .356 and blasting a then-record 60 home runs; Lou Gehrig batting .373, with 47 homers and a then-record 175 RBIs; Earle Combs hitting .356; Tony Lazzeri, with 102 RBIs. Walter Beall pitched in parts of four seasons for the Yankees (1924-27) and in 1929 for the Washington Senators. He had a lifetime Major League record of 5-5, with a 4.43 ERA. Beall had the most action for the Yankees during the 1926 season when he pitched in 20 games with a 2-4 record and a 3.53 ERA. In that '26 season, Beall threw 124.0 innings, with nine starts, a complete game, six finished games, and a save. Beall only pitched one inning for the Yankees in '27, giving up an earned run while finishing a game. Beall has signed his name on a 3x5" index card. The index card also has an approx. 1.25x1.5" cut photo of Beall glued to the card. Beall's signature is extremely faint, but there. Although Beall pitched in only one game for the '27 Yankees, he had pitched with the Yankees in parts of the previous three seasons as well.
