The hidden story behind this AP wire photograph is that the Phillies manager Ben Chapman refused to shake Robinson's hand and would only agree to hold the same bat as the Dodger rookie for this photo op. Chapman denied reports that his team was "...riding Robinson from the bench any more than they did other players..." The 7 1/4" x 9" photo is in EX condition.
