Fantastic Bobby Jones Original Glass Plate Negative

Fantastic Bobby Jones Original Glass Plate Negative

Original glass plate camera negative capturing legendary golfer Bobby Jones, circa 1945. Jones is pictured posing on the links, with two golf balls in his right hand and a club in his left. We have never seen this image before, making this negative a one-of-a-kind Bobby Jones photographic collectible. One of the most accomplished golfers in history, Jones won thirteen of the twenty-one major championships he entered from 1923 to 1930. In 1930 he captured the coveted "Grand Slam" of golf, winning all four major championships in a single year (U.S. and British Opens and their amateur counterparts). Incredibly, he retired after that year. He was also a founder of the Augusta National Golf Club and helped design its course. The negative (4x5") has Jones' name written along the left border, and the year, 1945, written along the right border. The number "15" is written in the lower left corner. Excellent condition overall. Please note: the positive image seen on our website is for illustrative purposes only and does not accompany the negative; only the negative is offered in this lot.
