Fantastic Cleveland Indians Collection w/Many Scarcities (120+)

Presented is a marvelous collection of Indians memorabilia comprising well over 120 items. The franchise that was known as the Cleveland Indians began in the minor league Western Association and became a Major League franchise as one of the original members of the American League in 1901. In its initial season in the American League, the Cleveland team was known as the Bluebirds or Blues. In 1902, the club was unofficially also known as the Bronchos. Beginning in 1903, the team was called the Napoleons or the Naps, in honor of its captain, Napoleon Lajoie. Then, in 1914, Lajoie, now a player-manager, left the team and the franchise was re-named the Indians. As of this year, the franchise deemed "Indians" represented a name from the past and selected Guardians as the club's new moniker. This amazing lot is one man's collection in its entirety. The three-dimensional items: gold tooth Stanford pottery bank; 1940s bank with a feather; a slightly different 1940s bank with feather; 1950s salt and pepper shakers; 1950s ashtray with tooth match holder; 1948 glass ash tray; 1940s milk glass ash tray; 1940s Gibbs-Conner bank; two slightly different 1947 statues by Mazzolini; modern reproduction of statue by Mazzolini; 1960s gold base nodder with mascot head; ceramic bank with teepee (missing stopper). Also, 18 Indians' Pens and Pencils: Some are rare, and some are in small boxes. Small Pins: mostly 0.75"), including Bob Feller, Bob Lemon, and Mike Garcia. Indians' Buttons (18): most are from the 1940s-60s. Some are rare. One is titled "Last Home Stand/Cleve Indians/ Cleveland Stadium/ I was There." Another button reads, "Early Wynn's 300 Club," and yet another reads "Phooey To Boston." Indians Pins and Jewelry: most from 1940s-70s. charms, bracelets, pins, locket, press pins, tie bars, and cufflinks. Coasters et al: (7). 1940s-70s Schedules: (16), includes World Series season of '48 and the pennant winning season of '54. 1940s Cigarette Cases: (3), vintage look. Potpourri (14): large pins, keychain, lanyard, etc. Since the Cleveland team is now named the Guardians, Cleveland Indian memorabilia takes on a new dimension. The Indians team name and logo changes were made to conform to modern mores, but this magnificent memorabilia with the team's Indians nickname should only become more precious in the coming years.
