Federal League Game Ball Dated 1914 - Pittsburgh vs Chicago

The last time a third major professional baseball league actually made it to the field was in 1914 and 1915, when the Federal League challenged the National and American League structure until half of the franchises were bought out. This official Federal League baseball commemorates a 1-0 ballgame won by the Pittsburgh Rebels in 10 innings over the Chicago Whales on August 3, 1914. There is one autograph on the ball, as well as the umpire names and game details. Hall of Fame infielder Joe Tinker - who helped guide the Cubs to their last World Series titles - rounded out his career with the Whales and likely played in this game. In fact, the Cubs' home stadium - Wrigley Field - was built specifically for the Federal League's Chicago team.
