Fifth Avenue From 42nd Street Looking South Print (1870's)

Fifth Avenue From 42nd Street Looking South Print (1870's)

This beautifully colored print captures a unique view of late 19th Century Manhattan. The view is looking south down 5th Avenue and on the right side of the image, where today you'd be seeing the iconic image of the 2 lions gracing the front of the New York Public Library, you see the wall around the reservoir, made famous by Caleb Carr in the historic novel <u>The Alienist, </u>that was the city's water supply at the time. It is truly a unique perspective that captures a moment in a city that is constantly changin. The quality of the print is EX with no wrinkling or tearing and good color quality.
