First Ever Canadian Most Valuable Player Award Won By Heisman Trophy Winner Billy Vessels

First Ever Canadian Most Valuable Player Award Won By Heisman Trophy Winner Billy Vessels

Yes, this is the first ever CFL MVP award and it is a gorgeous painting on board with the trophy plaque affixed to the right bottom corner. It is engraved "Billy Vessels Canada's First Most Valuable Player 1953." Billy Vessels was the 1952 Heisman Trophy winner for the University of Oklahoma. In 1953 he went to the Edmonton Eskimos of the Canadian Rugby union, soon to become the CFL. This is the first year it was ever awarded! It is still awarded, to day, the most significant CFL player award, known as The CFL's Most Outstanding Player Award. The piece is artist signed "Tex" in original frame, overall 30" x 25.5".
