First Issue of Time Magazine (March 3rd, 1923)

In honor of Time Magazine's 100th anniversary Lelands is proud to offer this fine First edition of Time, published on March 3, 1923.  The cover features an illustration of Speaker of the House Joseph G. Cannon by artist William Oberhardt. The twenty-eight page magazine (8.25x11") displays a slight separation to the covers at the top end of the spine and oxidation to the binding staples; otherwise in Excellent condition overall. Interestingly, it is accompanied by one-page typed copy letter, dated July 17, 1973, from Marian Powers of the Time Magazine editorial office in which she provides an appraisal value of $100 for the offered first edition.
