First NBA All Star Game Program

First NBA All Star Game Program

A program from the first NBA All-Star Game, held in 1951 at the Boston Garden. League support for the first All-Star Game was limited, but Boston Celtics owner Walter A. Brown insisted on creating the event, even offering to host the game and cover all expenses. The ensuing battle between the East and West would ultimately go on to become a rousing success. Won by the East, the 1951 All-Star Game featured legends such as Bob Cousy, Ed Macauley and Bob Davies. The program has one small picture cut out in the interior pages, creasing and minor tearing on the cover, but is otherwise in VG condition.
