First Pitch Ball from the Last Game at Old Comiskey Park (Comiskey Family Sourced)

First Pitch Ball from the Last Game at Old Comiskey Park (Comiskey Family Sourced)

Sourced from the family of famed owner Charles Comiskey, this ball was used to throw out the first pitch on September 3, 1990, for the last game at Old Comiskey Park. Thrown by Chicago Mayor Richard Daley, black calligraphy writing on the sweet spot and north/south panels reads, "First Pitch, Last Game Old Comiskey Park, 9-30-90." This Official American League (Brown) baseball shows very light toning and stampings are slightly faded but clearly legible. Overall a beautiful display piece with a solid connection to Chicago baseball history.
