First-Year New York Knicks Team-Signed Program
The 1946-47 season was the first in pro basketball history, when the NBA was known as the BAA. This tough program from the inaugural Knickerbockers season was signed by all 13 members and the trainer in beautiful blue/green fountain pen. The signatures rate 8/10 or better. Includes photos and bios of Ossie Shechtman and the original Knicks, as well as those of their opponent, the Providence Steamrollers, led by the league's first-ever assist champion, Ernie Calverley, their captain. Providence would win this game, 69-62 at the 69th Regiment Armory in NYC. Both teams would finish in the middle of the pack in the Eastern Conference standings.
