Floyd Patterson Fight Worn Gloves From His First 10 Round Fight
On January 17, 1955 at the Eastern Parkway Arena in Brooklyn rising heavyweight star and future champion Floyd Patterson fought Don Grant in what is recognized as Patterson's first ten round fight. Patterson stopped Grant in the 5th round to continue his march to a title shot. Offered here are Patterson's fight worn gloves from the event. The gloves are brown leather with Everlast labels at the wrist. Marked inside by the boxing commission. Painted on backhands, "FLOYD PATTERSON 1st 10 ROUNDER." In fine condition with remnants of the laces. LOA from Tyson assistant manager Steve Lott who got the gloves from Tyson and Patterson trainer Cus D'Amato. Also comes with fight videom showing Patterson wearing the gloves.
