"Forward Pass" by Thomas Hart Benton (1889-1975)
Thomas Hart Benton is one of America's most influential artists, and a leader of the Regionalist Movement. He was also the subject of a critically acclaimed 2004 Ken Burns documentary. A Benton Sports piece is a true rarity, appealing to the most advanced collectors. The lithograph measures 12 7/8" x 19 3/4" but framed to 21" x 28". Circulated by the Associated American Artists of New York City, it was limited to only 250 pieces. Benton signed it in pencil and in the print. Hails from the Bert Sugar collection with official hologram and LOA. NRMT condition.
