Four Hundred Jake LaMotta Signed Checks (1950s)

Jake La Motta won the World Middleweight Title on June 16, 1949, stopping Marcel Cerdan in 10 rounds. He posted career victories over Sugar Ray Robinson, Tommy Bell, Fritzie Zivic, and Laurent Dauthuille in compiling a career mark of 83-19-4. Known as "The Bronx Bull," he will forever be remembered as the subject of the critically-acclaimed 1980 movie "Raging Bull." Offered here are a cache of 400 checks, all signed by LaMotta. They all date to the mid 1950s. These are business checks from Jake La Motta, Inc. and from Jake La Motta’s Skybrite, Inc. One is issued from Bank of Miami Beach bank. Each check is signed on the front by La Motta in ink. They measure 3” x 8 3/8.” The bank check measures 2 3/4" x 6 3/4." All are in excellent or better condition with bold signatures.
