Fred Cox Game Balls (3)
A great way to commemorate the Minnesota Vikings all-time leading scorer, and inventor of the Nerf football, Fred Cox. These three Wilson game balls, with painted panels, were presented to Cox in honor of his career accomplishments by the Minnesota Vikings. All with white painted panels with “Fred Cox” in purple and illustration of Vikings team logo. The first commemorating Cox’s 1,000th point milestone reads, “Game Ball presented to Fred Cox, 1000 points, Vikings - 22, Bears - 13, September 23, 1973, Soldiers Field.” The second commemorating Cox’s 200th consecutive NFL game reads, “Game Ball presented to Fred Cox, 200th consecutive NFL game, Vikings - 14, Lions - 7, October 9, 1977, Met. Stadium.” The third commemorates the last game of his career, and reads “Game Ball presented to Fred Cox, Vikings - 14, Rams - 7, December 26, 1977, Coliseum.” Overall EX. All are official NFL footballs, one with Pete Rozelle’s facsimile signature. Each one comes with its own LOA from Cox.
