Fred Stanley New York Yankees Batting Helmet from Oakland A's Batboy
This wonderful batting helmet is likely from the World Championship years of 1977-78 based on the flapped style and years the bat boy was with the A's. A key backup cog for the Pinstripes, Stanley was better known as "Chicken," as Phil Rizzutto called him (he was one of Phil's faves). Chicken was a superb backup who is one of the cult heroes of this dynasty. There is a #11 inside in black marker and overall EX condition with terrific use. Obtained by us directly from the Oakland A's bat boy of this era.
