Gene Tunney Fight Worn Gloves (19x30" shadow boxed)
Fight worn gloves from one of the greatest who ever laced up the leathers. This esteemed pair came from a gentleman in the Northern California area whose family member got them from a 1920's boxing exhibition that Gene Tunney was putting on at Stanford University. Remarkably, the gentleman asked for, and received, these gloves! Spaldings are in fine condition and are tagged on the outside heel of the glove with the traditional white label. Above it you can make out clearly in vintage black ink letters, "Compliements of Harry…" Harry was likely a member of Tunney's entourage who presented the gloves. Letter of authenticity from John Buonaguidi, a Northern California boxing collector since the 1970's. He bought them directly from a the family member. Attractively shadow boxed for display.
