Gerald Ford Signed Richard Nixon Pardon

Gerald Ford Signed Richard Nixon Pardon

Richard Nixon was one of the most polarizing fixtures of American politics. His epic rise to power was topped only by his fall from grace and subsequent impeachment. Nonetheless, he is considered one of the most important men in American history, and for better or worse he forever changed the political spectrum in this country. This piece is one of the most interesting artifacts from Nixon's life and the entirety of Vietnam War-era United States: the Presidential pardon document he received after resigning. Although not the actual pardon, this document is signed in black felt-tip pen by Nixon's former Vice President Gerald Ford (the signature grades 9/10). In addition to the proclamation, the piece includes 4 1/2 x 6 1/4" photographic portraits of both men, and is beautifully matted and framed to 19 x 28". Truly an interesting memento of a turbulent time in American history.
