Giant 1940s Rawlings Store Display Glove

Giant 1940s Rawlings Store Display Glove

Marvelous three-finger trapper glove is a 20” tall store display model that came out of the St. Louis area. Hometown of both Rawlings Sporting Goods and the St. Louis Browns, this is an exact scale model of “The George McQuinn Claw” as stenciled into the pocket. Circa 1944, it is endorsed by local St. Louis Brownie who led the Browns to their first ever World Series victory (1944). Accurate from the “oversized” claw lacing right down to the inside wool padding. Huge “Rawlings” logo in the pocket with “T70” below. Some fading to the stenciling but is still about 75%. Slight chipping to the leather around the edges but overall real nice. The only one known and one of the finer pieces of generic sports equipment you will see.
