Gil Hodges Personal 1969 Mets Black Bat
This special edition '69 Mets commemorative bat was the personal property of a very special owner -- the man whose quiet strength and baseball smarts made that "Amazin'" championship season a reality, Gil Hodges. The black Louisville Slugger was one he owned for himself and after his death in 1972, it was kept by his widow, Joan, for many years. The very scarce item is engraved "New York Mets World Champions 1969" in lime green, and in gold with all the '69 Mets names including Hodges, Seaver, Ryan, Koosman, McGraw, Clendenon, Gentry, Charles, Weis, Kranepool, Boswell, Grote, Charles, McAndrew, Shamsky, coach Yogi Berra, etc. Some nameds engraved in script, some block letters. NRMT bat (35") comes with LOA from Joan Hodges.
