Gorgeous Allen & Ginter 19th Century Tobacco Album Collection (7)
Marvelous collection of tobacco albums that were available by sending in the cigarette pack coupons to receive these lavish books. They each date from the late 1880s, early 1890s, and are bound with elaborate string. They feature fabulous graphics with each page an opus to that particular card set. The cards are beautifully set against a backdrop of 19th century lithography. The books included are World Champions with baseball and boxing among others (small edge piece off front cover o/w strong VG-EX), Album of American Editors 1st Series (VG+), Album of World’s Beauties 2nd Series (missing tiny cover piece o/w VG-EX), Racing Colors of the World (corner clip o/w VG-EX), 50 Decorations of the Principal Orders of Knighthood and Chivalry of the World (VG-EX), Album of Worlds Racers (VG-EX), and perhaps nicest of all, an album of Celebrated American Indian Chiefs with superb American Indian graphics (EX).
