Guitar Purported to Have Been Used by Elvis Presley on the Joe Franklin Show in 1955

Joe Franklin hosted a groundbreaking local TV show in the 1950's called Memory Lane which broadcast live from WABC in NY, NY. In 1955, he gave Elvis Presley his first opportunity to perform on live TV. It was a pivotal time in Elvis' young career: "The Colonel" had just started to represent him and RCA was considering signing him to a record deal. In a convincing letter of provenance, Franklin paints the scene of a nervous young musician who was in such a hurry to leave the studio, he left behind his guitar and never returned to claim it. This Kay guitar is purportedly that same guitar, although unusual in that it is not of the quality normally played by Elvis. However, the documentation is very strong, making the guitar a fascinating curio either way. Also includes a signed 5x6 photo of Joe Franklin.
