Hank Aaron Game-Used Baseball Glove
Anyone carving out a Mount Rushmore of baseball sluggers would simply have to include Hank Aaron along with other legends such as Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig and Willie Mays. From 1974 to 2007, "Hammerin' Hank" owned baseball's vaunted record for career home runs and was named an All-Star a record 25 times. But the Hall of Famer's vast accomplishments on the diamond were hardly limited to the batter's box. The right fielder was a sensational defensive player, earning three Gold Gloves along the way. Here's one of his tools of the trade - a spectacular and very rare item that was originally obtained in spring training and gifted to our consignor, who has possessed it exclusively ever since. The Mizuno Made in USA black kangaroo leather fielder's glove indicates model KOX in the heel while #44 in marker is written on the thumb. The glove shows very heavy use to the point that the pocket is worn through. There is also a small tear in the strap, measuring roughly half an inch. Hank Aaron shattered Babe Ruth's longstanding home run mark of 714 in 1974 and held it until Barry Bonds eclipsed that mark with blast #756 in 2007. Aaron, who has served the Atlanta Braves in a variety of front office capacities over the years, is now retired and living in Georgia.
