One of the most rare signatures in baseball, Henry “Hank” Thompson (D 1969), a player for the Kansas City Monarchs and Satchel Paige’s All Stars who became the first Negro Leaguer to play in both the American and National Leagues in the Majors, after he signed with the New York Giants in 1954. He was part of the first all-black outfield with Willie Mays and Monte Irvin on the 1951 Giants World Series team. Ball with nice blue ink signature on the panel, “Best Wishes, Hank Thompson.” Signature grades “”8” out of a possible 10.
