Harrisburg Colored Giants Broadside

Harrisburg Colored Giants Broadside

History-drenched, 13 x 22" broadside for the Harrisburg Colored Giants, one of the 1st "true" black teams, formed by Col. Willian Strothers in 1890 and made up of local Pennsylvania talent as opposed to the blend of black and Latin players a la the Cuban Giants and Cuban X Giants. The ecru poster with a great team shot in the center is covered with bright red lettering, with "Night Baseball" across the top above "Under Flood Lights", marking the piece as being from the late 1930s or early '40s. The blank area underneath "Harrisburg Colored Giants will play..." was where the other team, date and venue were to be written in. VG with a few chips and creases. Framed o/a to 18 x 28".
