Harry Glaubach Ebbets Field Folk Art
Rare original art work by Harry Glaubach, an artist who specializes in sports, judaica, delis and diners, and theater. Glaubach creates wooden scenes painted in bright colors. In this large piece (48x14.5", 48x16" where the Ebbets Field sign is placed), Glaubach creates a piece that represents Brooklyn and Manhattan in the New York City of the 1920s. A the top center is an Ebbets Field sign. Wooden cut-outs of Brooklyn Dodger players are below. Another part of the work is a paeon to Nathan's Famous Hot Dogs, with wooden heads representing the Three Stooges. The Nathan's hot dog are listed as costing 5 cents. Theater is represented with a sign for the Palace Theater with a wooden cutout as Groucho Marx and another representing the Roxy Theater with a wooden cutout as Charlie Chaplin.
