A master is at work in this Gjon Mili silver print. Henri Matisse, one of the most influential modernist painters, sculptors and draughtsman in history, was known for his beautiful, flowing style and refusal to conform to artistic standards. This 9.5x13.5" print is on an 11x14" piece of thick photo paper and shows the master at work creating a new piece in Nice, France in 1949, using an exceptionally long tool. The print contains handwritten notes by Mili on the verso. Image was printed in the early 1990's. EX-MT condition.
