Henri Matisse Draws with Flashlight by Gjon Mili

Henri Matisse Draws with Flashlight by Gjon Mili

Art can be simultaneously eternal and instantaneous as Henri Matisse shows us in this 1949 Gjon Mili photograph. The 10x10" silver print on 11x12" thick photo paper shows the visionary artist drawing in the air with a flashlight in Nice, France, as stacks of rough sketches are illuminated by the swirling show. Print contains handwritten notes by Mili on the verso and is in EX-MT condition. Was printed in the 1990s.
