High Grade 1919 Cincinnati Reds "Our Boys" Fold-Out Photographic Display
Fascinating memento sold as a souvenir for the 1919 Cincinnati Reds during the season and for their infamous World Series run. Originally intended to be folded together, a total of 25 individual player photos has been mounted on a black background (section measures 32x8" visible) and framed and matted to 38x14.5". Each photo remains superbly crisp despite being over a century old, and each has the player's name printed in a script-style font (including Hall of Famer Edd Roush). There is one additional space, which contains a slot reading "'Our Boys' The Reds 1919." Wonderful remembrance of the oft-forgotten World Champs, who were caught in the web of the Chicago White Sox' infamous "throwing" of that year's series, depriving the Reds of a chance to win it fair and square and resulting in eight White Sox standouts being banned from baseball for life by newly-installed commissioner, Judge Kenesaw "Mountain" Landis. Simply an amazing display, especially considering its vintage.
