From the first of what would would be five consecutive championships, this ball was signed by the 1949 World Series winning New York Yankees. The evenly off-white OAL (Harridge) baseball with faded but readable stampings has great eye appeal, which becomes even greater when you notice Joe DiMaggio's signature standing out prominently on the sweet spot. Along with DiMaggio, the ball has been signed by two other Hall of Famers, Yogi Berra and Phil Rizzuto, as well as several other Yankee greats, including George Stirnweiss, Bob Porterfield, Joe Page, Babe Young and Joe Collins. There are 26 ink signatures in all that average 8/10, though some are better. Comes with letter from SGC and no clubhouse signatures. In '49, the Yanks bested the Red Sox by one game to win the AL pennant, then took out the Brooklyn Dodgers in five games to secure their fourth title of the decade.
