High Grade 2001 Roberto Alomar Cleveland Indians Game Used Bat
<p>Roberto Alomar Rawlings pro-model ("460A") bat dating from his 2001 season with the Cleveland Indians. Both Alomar's name and team affiliation ("Indians") are stamped in black block lettering on the barrel. The bat, which is not cracked, measures 35 inches in length and weighs 32.5 ounces. Heavy use is displayed throughout, including numerous ball marks, bat-rack marks, compressed wood on the barrel, and pine tar. Written on the knob in black marker are Alomar's uniform number ("12"), the model number ("460A") and the bat's length and original factory weight ("35/33"). Stamped in the knob are the model number ("460A"), the batch code ("339"), and the year code ("01"). The amount of use on the bat is not surprising, given that 2001 marked one of Alomar's finest seasons at the plate. The perennial All-Star second baseman batted a career-high .336 with 20 home runs and 100 RBI to help lead the Indians to a first-place finish in the American League Central Division. A ten-time Gold Glove Award winner, Alomar was equally adept at the plate, finishing his career with 210 home runs, 1,134 RBI, and a .300 lifetime average. He was elected to the Hall of Fame in 2011. This is an outstanding Alomar bat dating from his third and final season with the Indians. On a scale of 1-10, we would grade the bat "9.5."</p>
