Fascinating collection of (86) vintage aviation-themed news service photos. A great many document the life a business of aviation pioneer, Glenn Martin. He is shown in 1941 ushering in a new era of tight factory security after winning a contract to build a new breed of bombers for WWII. Also, stunning images from 1929 of French, transatlantic aviator, Armeno Lotti 1929. Other aviators reported on here include: Jones and Robbins' first ever non-stop flight to Japan in 1931, USMC Major C.A. Lutz in 1928, Harvey Lemcke in 1928, and USAF Major Frank Martin who commanded the around the world flyers in 1923 and later court-martialed as one of the "lax" Pearl Harbor military chiefs. Fun image of Heard McClellan jumping from an airplane to capture of a speeding car of "fugitives" in a 1926 LA Sheriffs department test of the feasibility of planes in police work.
