Honus Wagner Cut Signature (PSA)
Cut signature of Hall of Fame shortstop Honus Wagner. PSA has encapsulated the cut and certified the signature as "Authentic." Wagner has signed the small, irregular-shaped sheet of unlined paper "J. Honus Wagner" in blue fountain pen, with the signature grading 8/10. Below his name, Wagner has added "Pirates 46." Wagner was serving as a coach with the Pirates in 1946, a position he held from 1933 to 1951. This cut is part of a much larger signature collection compiled by our consignor's father in the late 1940s ("The New England Autograph Collection"). All the items from the collection are featured in thirty-one separate lots in this auction, including many prominent Hall of Famer autographs. The cut (approximately 4.25x2.5") remains in Excellent to Mint condition.
