The legendary George Halas called Hugh McElhenny, "The most feared back his team ever faced." As a rookie in 1952, he recorded the season's longest run from scrimmage (89 yards), the longest punt return (94 yards), and the top rushing average (7.0 yards per carry) and was a unanimous choice for the league's Rookie of the Year honors. There are some great pieces here: 1949 as the hope of the University of Washington Huskies, 1958 taking a pass from Y.A.
