Important 1974 Roberto Clemente Silkscreen by Luis German Cajiga

Important 1974 Roberto Clemente Silkscreen by Luis German Cajiga

One of the most compelling and talented artistic works of Roberto is this 1974 limited edition silkscreen of an original by famous Puerto Rican artist Luis German Cajiga. Because Cajiga is known for artwork with pastoral and religious themes, the sainted Clemente was a perfect subject for his skilled brushstrokes, which casts him in a white baseball cap looking off into the distance with eyes both intense and vulnerable, a heavenly ray of light shining on his face. Under his chin are the words "Homenaje a Roberto" (In Memory of Roberto) in white letters with a touch of black at the end, and "Clemente" in large red letters stretching across the bottom. Cajiga's original signature is on the lower right border as well as a facsimile against the deep blue background of the image, and "84/90" hand-written on the lower left border. 16 x 27" image is NRMT and framed within a tan matted surface under glass in a handsome 24 x 33" frame. No better rendering of Clemente exists. Cajiga works sell for in the thousands let alone one of such a passionate subject.
