Important Find of Richard K. Fox & John Wood Imperial Cabinet Photographs (15)
A collection of 15 boxing imperial cabinet photographs from the 1880s, this is a major find and many are unknown. Boxers include: Tug Wilson, Tom Lane, Billy Edwards, Paddy Ryan, Jim McCarthy, Mervine Thompson, Tom Henry, Frank White, Patsy Hogan, Pete McCoy, Wolf Bendott, Jim Goldem, Jack Welsh, Tarry Foley and Captain Jas Daly. These are classic images of early boxing with their fists up, mounted with the boxer's name handwritten on the front and back. Bottom left of each mount reads "Richard K. Fox" and bottom right reads "Franklin Square." Each measures 9x12" and of the 15 photos, 10 are framed. Four have "Copyrighted by John Wood, NY" with either 1882 or 1887 dating. Overall VG with some tearing and creasing on the mounts.
