Incredible 1930's Folk Art Framed Baseball Displays (14)

Incredible 1930's Folk Art Framed Baseball Displays (14)

An amazing series of framed crafted images by an early collector who used professional methods to create a vivid legacy memorabilia-wise, each piece is a significant work of art. Measuring 14.75x11.75" they consist of a paper image beautifully diecut that displays either Baseball Supplement images or actual silver gelatin photos. Against a brown background the bottoms consist of handcut lettering of the players names affixed to a matte which was privately handpicked and is the best part of all this. The artwork is original and magnificent. Multiple stars frame the boarders with great baseball imagery of umpires, players and traditional crossed bat logos used to mock the official AL/NL logos of the period. The frames are old and original dating this to the 30s. Some players predate this period so this is an early collectors piece that looks like a commercial display for a store or just a lucky home. It has some water damage on some subjects (marked "W"): Jack Barry, Paul Waner (W), Jimmy Archer, Hal Schumacher, Mike McNally, Bob Meusel (W), Lon Warneke, James Collins, Larry Garden, Dave Bancroft, Ken Williams (W), Stanley Harris and Babe Herman. They can use some cleaning, but are overall a great group.
