Incredibly Rare Sullivan & Corbett Books (3)

These three boxing-themed publications are so rare that it's possible you may not see any of these available again. 1) 1891 Life and Battles of John L. Sullivan published by Richard Fox. Missing Back Cover and brittle. 2) 1892 Life and Battles of James J Corbett published by Richard Fox. Companion piece to previous. Antique repair to spine. Tear through pages and cover. 3) 1892 Life and Battles of James J. Corbett published by Richard Fox. Brittle with paper loss and cover wear. Well-worn but that's not unexpected as the subjects are a couple of the legends of bare-knuckle boxing of the late 1800's.

Addendum from noted boxing historian Tony Gee:Corbett was not a bareknuckle fighter and most of Sullivan's bouts were actually gloved ones. It would therefore be far more accurate to say that they were a 'couple of the legends of late 1800's boxing', rather than a “couple of the legends of bare-knuckle boxing of the late 1800's."
