Jack Dempsey Boxer License

Jack Dempsey was born on June 24, 1895 in Manassas, Colorado. He defeated Jess Willard on July 4, 1919 to win the World Heavyweight Title and held the title until September 23, 1926 when he lost to Gene Tunney. Presented here is the New York State boxing license for Jack Dempsey When he was champion in 1924. The license measures 2 3/4 inches by 4 1/4 inches. The front has Jack Dempsey's name and is signed by the Commissioner of the New York State Athletic Committee. The face shows wear with some minor creasing and a small tear at the bottom. The back has an original photograph of Jack Dempsey for proof of identity that is attached. There also is the embossed seal from the state Athletic Commission. This is a super piece of boxing history and very rare.
