Jack Dempsey Signed Handwritten Telegram Regarding Harry Wills

Jack Dempsey Signed Handwritten Telegram Regarding Harry Wills

An interesting undated telegram (although circa 1924) signed by Jack Dempsey which is addressed to Raymond J. Cannon, who was the proposed promoter of a fight between World Heavyweight Champion Jack Dempsey and the terrific African-American heavyweight Harry Wills. Dempsey is pushing in the telegram to break the contract by trying to force parties to come up with the money needed. Terrific content. The fight ultimately did not come off. The telegram is creased with edge and surface wear, as well as a bold Dempsey ink signature. Authenticated by JSA.
