Jack Johnson-Jim Flynn 1912 Silk
This fine hand colored painting on silk commemorates the July 4, 1912 World's Heavyweight Championship bout between Jack Johnson and Jim Flynn. It shows both fighters in front of a wooded scene with "Johnson-Flynn Word's Championship Bout" in black letters at the top and "Las Vegas, New Mexico, July 4th, 1912" beneath the picture. This silk is one of a handful known to exist and is outlined by a green vine with small flower blossoms. It measures approximately 16 1/2 x 18" and has some minor fraying and discoloration near the border but would frame almost NRMT.
