Jack Sharkey vs. Primo Carnera Fight Film Poster
Extremely rare vintage fight film poster for the heavyweight championship fight between Jack Sharkey and Primo Carnera on June 29, 1933 at Madison Square Garden's Long Island Bowl, in Long Island City, N.Y. Sharkey, who'd taken the crown from Max Schmeling a year before, outweighed Carnera by 60 pounds but ran into an uppercut that turned his lights out in round 6. Poster for the "Exclusive Official Motion Picture" of the bout top-bills Sharkey but lists him as "Former Champion" in small print, and Carnera 2nd, as "Challenger -- and New Champion." Light tan with black print with b&w shot of Sharkey on the canvas in the center. 26 x 34" and mounted on linen. EX with some light restoration.
