Jackie Robinson is known for breaking baseball's color barrier, but not as well known is Dan Bankhead, who has the distinction of being the first black pitcher in the Major Leagues. This great 8x10" black & white photo shows the Brooklyn Dodgers teammates in the clubhouse, and mounted below is a check signed by each. With frame, the piece measures 19x21.5", and included is a letter from Rachel Robinson as well as a JSA LOA on the Jackie Robinson signature.
