Jackie Robinson Knothole Gang Photograph (PSA Type I)
Original Type I photograph of Jackie Robinson at Ebbets Field interacting with three young ballplayers during the popular pregame television show "Happy Felton's Knothole Gang." Robinson is pictured speaking with the boys as host Happy Felton holds the microphone and moderates the discussion. The credit stamp of New York photographer "Edward Ozern" appears on the reverse. "Happy Felton's Knothole Gang" program, which ran from 1950 to 1958, featured three young ballplayers as guests, each of whom received instruction from Dodgers players prior to a home game. At the end of the program, the players were evaluated on their talent level and the winner was invited back the next night to have a personal chat with his favorite Dodgers player. The show was extremely popular and was credited with increasing membership in youth baseball leagues in the New York area. The photo (10x8") remains in Excellent to Mint condition.
